As part of its objectives, between June and August 2023, Climate Action Teams held a convening that brought together various actors engaged in technical and policy issues related to climate change. The central focus of this call was on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, with the purpose of initiating a participatory dialogue process called “Climate Dialogue: Boosting Chile’s Ambition through Article 6 of the Paris Agreement”.
The final result of this process materialized in the creation of a decalogue that concisely presents the main recommendations and observations of the group in relation to the definition of the national policy for the implementation of Article 6 in Chile. The structure of this document is based on three specific areas of focus: (i) the feasibility of the implementation of Article 6 in Chile; (ii) the application of safeguards, and (iii) short-term actions and tasks to advance in this area.
This will fulfill the commitment established between the Climate Action Teams initiative and the Ministry of the Environment, through Minister María Heloísa Rojas Corradi. This delivery represents a concrete contribution by CAT and the group of participants convened to enrich the ongoing public debate on the formulation of national policy in relation to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

Como parte de sus objetivos, entre junio y agosto de 2023, Climate Action Teams llevó a cabo una convocatoria que reunió a diversos actores comprometidos con cuestiones técnicas y políticas relacionadas con el cambio climático. El enfoque central de esta convocatoria se centró en el Artículo 6 del Acuerdo de París, con el propósito de dar inicio a un proceso participativo de diálogo denominado “Diálogo Climático: Potenciando la Ambición de Chile a través del Artículo 6 del Acuerdo de París”.
El resultado final de este proceso se materializó en la creación de un decálogo que presenta de manera concisa las principales recomendaciones y observaciones del grupo en relación con la definición de la política nacional para la aplicación del Artículo 6 en Chile. La estructura de este documento se basa en tres áreas de enfoque específicas: (i) la viabilidad de la implementación del Artículo 6 en Chile; (ii) la aplicación de salvaguardas, y (iii) las acciones y tareas a corto plazo para avanzar en este ámbito.
Lo anterior, dará cumplimiento al compromiso establecido entre la iniciativa Climate Action Teams y el Ministerio del Medio Ambiente, a través de la ministra María Heloísa Rojas Corradi. Esta entrega representa una contribución concreta por parte de CAT y el grupo de participantes convocados para enriquecer el debate público en curso sobre la formulación de la política nacional en relación con el Artículo 6 del Acuerdo de París.
