Colombia’s Nationally Determined Contribution is a 20% reduction in net emissions below business-as-usual levels by 2030.  Colombia has been developing climate policy for many years.  Some key aspects are summarized in this IETA report.

Colombia has an operational carbon tax and enabling legislation for an Emissions Trading System (ETS). In terms of forests, Colombia has a well-developed Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation Plus (REDD+) strategy and an existing agreement with international partners for enhanced protection of the Amazon region – Visión Amazonía.

Colombia is a signatory to the Declaration on Carbon Pricing in the Americas.
